OMA Award

Silver-Indian

March, 2010 - InnoMark was awarded with a Silver OMA Award for the Foray Endcap Display and Pen merchandiser.

Features: Vac-Formed tester tray with changeable writing pad and price channel. Fits over standard Lozier shelf borrowing support from the existing shelf. The writing pad is available for purchase in the store making replacement a breeze, just open the thumb screws and slide on the new pad. Tray cups have angled bottoms so that pens lean toward consumer.

Lenticular Header panel provides eye-catching motion and shows off the color choices.

Durable side graphic panels and shelf strips complete the finished look and pulls the display together.

Benefits: Tester tray has 24 cups that hold 24 pens each providing maximum merchandising SKU representation. Consumers can "try before they buy" which is the ultimate win in merchandising, encouraging interaction. The display pulls the consumer in and moves product out!

Office Depot reported a significant increase in sales of Foray pens during the first 3 months this display was instores.

Marketing at Retail Objectives:

  • To design a freestanding ‘collage’ frame system for the Holidays, that mirrored the look of existing in-store frames.
  • From the front, the frames should appear as if they are ‘floating’, even though supported by a base.
  • Must assemble easily, be lightweight, and allow for simple change-outs of the graphics and messaging.

Design & Engineering:

  • An alternate material had to be found to replace the carved wood frames. Our selection: urethane molding. And, our material was half the weight and half the cost…
  • Complex CAD drawings were created to make the molded urethane frame a reality.
  • The client didn’t want to see any framework structure from the front of the display, making the routing of the tubular steel framework very challenging.

Shopper Engagement:

  • The designs on the frames gave this project a quality look, along with the unique frame placement, to provide the upscale image the retailer intended.

Retail Experience:

  • Graphics were easy to change from behind allowing the retailer to adjust to local markets, if necessary.
  • Less than 1% of stores reported any difficulty in setting up and loading the images in the unit
  • The retailer received only one store call on this project - for one damaged frame on a 325 store base shipment.

Results:

  • InnoMark’s Holiday frame displays were a huge success. So much so, that they continued to be used for WH/BM spring promotions.
  • Our freestanding displays beautifully imitated the existing in-store frames while creating a fresh new ‘look’, which could be used in the outside store window to attract shoppers into the store…
